Welcome
A warm welcome to Weare Academy Church of England First School
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Weare Academy Church of England First School – a small, family-friendly village school where every child is known, valued and celebrated for who they are.
Set in beautiful rural surroundings at the heart of our caring village community, Weare Academy is a happy and nurturing place to learn, play and grow. With just five classes (Reception to Year 4), our small size allows us to build strong relationships with every child and family. We take pride in knowing every child by name and understanding their individual strengths, ensuring they feel seen, supported and inspired to achieve their best.
Judged ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted (December 2022), we are proud to keep our vision, ‘All Can Achieve’, at the heart of everything we do – inspired by Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Our dedicated staff are committed to nurturing confident, curious learners who are aspirational, resilient and kind. Our most recent SIAMS inspection (November 2025) highlighted the school’s distinct Christian vision, which shapes both the curriculum and daily life, with values such as aspiration, kindness and resilience consistently modelled and lived out by pupils and staff. Inspectors also recognised Weare Academy as a caring and inclusive community, where pupils are supported to flourish spiritually and academically, and leaders are committed to continual improvement.
We are also proud of Rainbow Woods Preschool, which welcomes children aged 2 to 4 years. Our caring Early Years team provide a warm, home-from-home environment where our youngest learners can flourish and develop a love of learning from the very beginning.
Our beautiful grounds offer endless opportunities for outdoor learning and play. From our large playing field and forest school to our thriving school garden, where each class tends their own plot, our children develop teamwork, curiosity and a deep connection with nature.
At Weare Academy, we aim to instil a lifelong love of learning within a caring Christian community. Our Christian values of Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Curiosity, Aspiration and Resilience guide everything we do, helping our pupils grow into confident, compassionate individuals ready to make a positive difference in the world.
If you’re considering joining our school family, we would love to welcome you for a visit. Come and see for yourself what makes Weare Academy such a warm, close-knit and inspiring place for children to learn and thrive.
Warm regards,
Mrs C. Dover
