Welcome to Beetles Class

Welcome to Beetles Class, led by Mr Maydrew. Beetles is a welcoming, supportive and inspiring environment where children grow in confidence, independence and resilience as they prepare for the transition to middle school.

Our broad and engaging curriculum encourages children to think deeply, ask questions and make connections across their learning. Reading, writing and mathematics remain at the heart of the curriculum, alongside practical investigations, creative projects and enrichment opportunities that challenge and inspire.

As the oldest pupils in the school, Year 4 children are encouraged to be positive role models, take on responsibilities and contribute to the wider school community. We help them develop the confidence, teamwork and independence they need for the next stage of their education.

Our Christian values guide everything we do, encouraging children to show kindness, respect and aspiration every day. We work closely with families to ensure every child feels supported, valued and ready to flourish during their final year at Weare Academy C of E First School.
