Weare Academy First School is a Church School and there is a strong link to the local United Parish of Crook Peak and especially to St Gregory’s Church in Weare.
Our Rector Judith Jeffery retired in July 2021, so the Parish is now ‘In Vacancy’ so now the church community is organising all services and other activities. This includes the ‘Open the Book’ Team (when restrictions allow) who encourage our children to think more deeply about our core Christian Values, through fun interactive role play.
Families with children at Weare Academy enjoy many events organised by Crook Peak Parish such as:
A short Family Service in Loxton Church at 10am followed by brunch in Loxton village Hall at 11.00 am. This is on the 3rd Sunday every other month. In 2022 this will be in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
This service is especially for young families, but everyone is welcome. We have children’s worship songs, musical instruments, and flags. We love children participating with their drawings and crafts, making their time in church a happy one. Come and find a gentle introduction to the bible and its meaning in our lives. Parking is in the village as the church does not have its own car park.
Praise and Worship Service
An informal Praise and Worship Service for all the Family, the 1st Sunday of every month in Weare Church at 10am. Join in the fun with our box of percussion instruments, whatever your rhythm!
Children and families are welcome in all our services. In Weare Church there is a corner with toys and colouring activities. There is a toilet and nappy changing table in the Churchroom. Compton Bishop Church has a toilet sited in the Car Park. Loxton Church has activity bags.
